Mafidz is a Malaysian folk-pop alternative music band, founded in 2016 by the trio of siblings: Megat Hafidz, Megat Fazly and Megat Aizzat. Joining forces with five other musicians — on guitar Khairul S, bass Ahmad Zakri, cello Mariamlisa, percussions Khairul Amirin, and drums Abbas Munawwar, Mafidz crafts a signature blend of folk-pop tunes infused with Malay music elements and harmonized by three distinct voices. Originally conceived as Megat Hafidz's stage name, "Mafidz" retained its identity when the siblings decided to formalize their collaboration into a group.
Their debut album, "Ada Angin & Hati" released physically in 2018, quickly earned acclaim from listeners, music critics, and industry luminaries alike. Just one week after its release, they took their unique sound to the International Indie Music Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia, where they showcased their fusion of folk-pop melodies to an international audience. The journey of Mafidz reached new heights when they emerged victorious in the Vans Musicians Wanted Malaysia 2019 competition, securing a spot to represent Malaysia at the prestigious House Of Vans Asia Pacific Stage in Chicago, USA.
In 2024, they unveiled their second album 'Teleportasi', featuring 11 tracks that mark a bold new chapter in their musical evolution.
